The Move Better Fitness Philosophy

The Move Better fitness plan is adaptable for the rest of your life. It will give you more energy and stamina with less fatigue and soreness. Personalized for your age, expectations, and limitations, the Move Better plan can be adjusted to any time frame. No gym membership or expensive equipment is required. Workouts can be done at-home or outdoors, unsupervised. Trainers may be used for specific disciplines like Pilates or yoga workouts. A self-assessment should be made to determine your fitness level and individual requirements based on age, weight, and capabilities.

The Move Better fitness philosophy is based on simplicity and commitment. Simplicity means a minimal level of instruction and little or no equipment. For example, nature’s treadmill, also known as walking, is perhaps the simplest and best exercise you can do. Commitment means that exercise should be a part of your daily life, and you should keep track of it. Whether it’s on a notepad or your phone, accountability is important. This is a lifelong commitment. Fitness should be your highest daily priority.

The Four Elements to Move Better

1. Cardiovascular Exercise: a minimum of 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week

2. Strength and Core Training: a minimum of 2 times per week

3. Flexibility, Mobility & Balance: Yoga or Pilates at least once a week

4. Rest and Recovery: plenty of high quality sleep, massage, and stretching

Functional fitness is at the heart of every Move Better plan. Defined as having the energy and ability to accomplish all of your day-to-day tasks with ease, achieving true functional fitness is the main goal. With safety in mind, the Move Better plan is easily adapted for any individual, age, or objective to help you see real tangible results in your health and fitness level.
